I met Alex Lloyd at the Moura Coal and Country Festival

It was a great weekend, the last of August 2021, and one I’ll never forget. The Coal and Country Festival at Moura Queensland delighted its party goers for a weekend of fun and festivities including bull riding, motorbike display, mine themed competitions like coal shoveling, dog jumping, and street science to name but a few. Kids enjoyed side show alley and all reveled in the array of musical performers from the Gladstone pipeband to renouned artists such as local favourites Busby Marou, Brad Butcher from Mackay, and my personal favourite Alex Lloyd who I was fortunate enough to get an interview with. Checkout the link below for a very candid chat with a very candid chap who I have much time and respect for. https://youtu.be/uZSIuldmpoQ

The festival began on Friday evening August 27th with the highly energised Bullarama where many daring and skilled bull riders held on for their lives and the title. Hats off to all riders especially those who came from NSW for the event. Checkout some of the bovine thrashing clips recorded. https://youtu.be/Enjcl75rFa4; https://youtu.be/nGL13E3d9pU

Something you don’t see everyday is coal shoveling and concrete drilling competitions. Very unique and entertaining in their own way. See some footage here. https://youtu.be/ZYfXGwut6tY;  https://youtu.be/zth8NvCJGS0

Dirtbike free ride took place in the main arena and put on a dirt slinging show for the audience. The kids had a go as well the bigboys. Check them out here. https://youtu.be/zi2XSK_jU18

What great event isn’t complete without fireworks. Not only were the skies lit up with glowy goodness but they were penetrated by wicked display of a laser light show. https://youtu.be/SwCg8cXdyGY

Much thanks to the organisers, performers, and to all those who helped put the event together the covid-safe event. Look forward to next years!
