Gladstone Multi-Cultural Festival
On September 2nd my support worker Robert and I traveled to the Gladstone Marina for the 20th Gladstone multi-cultural festival. A festival which has grown from a half day event to a week-long festival. It was Father’s Day and the weather was perfect, a fantastic reason for kids to treat Dad on his special day. With heaps of stalls which contained a vast range Interesting goodies to browse. Of course, a wide variety of international cuisine to test people’s taste, included countries such as India, China, I enjoyed a German sausage for lunch. It was supposed to be Dad’s day out but children were well catered for, activities like a Rock Climbing Wall, Carnival Rides and Painting. A great day out wouldn’t be complete without entertainment. The line-up included Indian dancers, ukulele players and the Gladstone Country Music Club wowed the crowd, one of the club members was the fiddle player for the Grandfather of Australian Country Music, Slim Dusty.
