Village Festival 2021
Every August the annual Village Festival takes place in Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast. It has been celebrating the arts, entertainment, and culture since 2003 and draws big crowds from across the region. Last Saturday the 2021 festival was underway and I was invited to attend as an artist where I could I setup a stall to display my novella Pursuit of a Killer. It was a great market day and I was proud to be amongst the other artists who also had their works on display. People were delighted with the unique range of clothing, jewellery, arts, craft and literature. Flow dancers entertained the streets. fair rides delighted the children and pleasant aromas from food stalls filled the air. The main events took to the stage from lunchtime till late and bands from the 1990’s to today rocked the crowds with an array of ear gratifying tunes. Sneaky Sound System was the headline act to finish off an awesome Saturday with their electronic synth pop sensations. The festivities continued the following day but I was unable to attend unfortunately but I hear it was another splendid day. Look forward to 2022 Village Festival!
